DeNovo Energy Block 1A Limited (DeNovo), part of the Proman Group, is an upstream exploration and production company focused on delivering low cost natural gas to the domestic market, to increase Trinidad and Tobago’s global competitiveness. DeNovo operates an offshore gas development opportunity in Block 1(a) in the Gulf of Paria to the West of Trinidad.

The Project is subdivided into two components: 1) An offshore platform and pipeline scope; and, 2) An onshore Gas Processing Unit (GPU).

The onshore Gas Processing Unit (GPU) Engineering and Procurement, Construction and Installation and Commissioning contracts were awarded to various companies within the Proman Group, these are Eurotecnica S.p.A (EUROTECNICA), Proman AG Trinidad Limited and IPSL Limited respectively.

One of the statutory requirements of the project was to obtain approval of the Chief Designs Engineer, Designs Engineering Branch, Construction Division of the Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT). A prerequisite for submission of engineering documents to the MOWT is for all engineering calculations and drawings to be stamped and signed by a Board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago (BOETT) registered engineer (REng).

Alvair Limited was commissioned by DeNovo to certify and submit to the MOWT on Denovo’s behalf, the structural designs prepared by EUROTECNICA; and thereafter liaise with the MOWT to obtain final MOWT approval of the structural designs for the Project.

• Obtained Ministry approval of the structures.
