Alvair was engaged by Caribbean Housing Limited (CHL) to provide full infrastructure engineering consultancy for several phases of the Brookhaven residential development, situated in Edinburgh, Chaguanas. The scope primarily focused on Sites 5 and 8 with services including the design and coordination of core infrastructure systems, along with the acquisition of statutory approvals for storm water detention pond(s) and drainage infrastructure for the wider development.

Services Performedx

• Grading and earthworks design for terrain modelling and grading plans to support site preparation, land use optimization and effective stormwater conveyance.
  Road pavement infrastructure design of internal access roads, including horizontal and vertical alignments, pavement layer specifications, intersection layouts, and turning radii to meet regulatory standards and provide efficient vehicular flow.
  Hydrologic and hydraulic engineering for surface water management, including culverts, roadside drains, and underground stormwater drainage systems tailored for medium-density residential land-use.
  Hydrologic analyses conducted to assess peak runoff scenarios and inform the engineering design of detention ponds, ensuring compliance with local stormwater regulations and flood mitigation requirements for the entire Brookhaven site.
  Preparation of civil engineering design reports, design calculations and construction drawings.
  Submission and coordination with the relevant statutory agencies to obtain drainage approvals, including design rationalization of system performance metrics and detention capacity thresholds.
