Project: New Sewage Treatment System for St. John’s
Location: St. John’s, Antigua
The Government of Antigua and Barbuda through the Department of Environment, with earmarked financing from the ‘Green Climate Fund’ and other funding sources, plans to “transform” its water sector. This water programme will include reducing distribution loses, renovating dams, water storage, wastewater recycling, increasing desalination capacity, and some demand-side management.
The first phase of the programme consists of the establishment of a new sewer treatment system(s) and pipe collection and distribution network for the capital city of Antigua, St. Johns. Alvair was engaged by an international funding and project execution agency to provide conceptual studies and design recommendations for the proposed wastewater treatment system.
